Wilsonville HS WR Tanner Shipley (Wilsonville, OR) verbally committed to Boise State on Sunday afternoon following an official visit to The Blue and says he's thrilled to finally be done with the recruiting process. The talented WR went into the visit wanting to compare Boise State to BYU and the Broncos came out on top in the end.

"It was the perfect college for me," he said. "I felt that brotherhood at Boise State and I saw that the coaches always want what is best for you," he added.

"I called Coach Petersen to commit and the first thing he asked me was why I wanted to commit," he stated. "I told him it's a family that I want to be a part of and I don't want to be anywhere else. I felt that brotherhood with the players and told him I want to commit to Boise State. He was super-pumped and congratulated me on my commitment."

"I had a meeting with Coach Prince as well," said Shipley. "He talked to me about the main aspects that they look for in a receiver, quickness, speed, and the ability to throw the ball. He likes my versatility and how I can play a lot of different positions."

The OKG - the method by which Head Coach Chris Petersen recruits to Boise State.

"Coach Petersen recruits OKGs," he said. "He's really big on doing what is best for the kids. He wants to continue building a great program at Boise State, but it's not just about the wins and losses. He's building a community of great guys both on and off the field."

"I'm 100% committed."

The recruiting process has been a bit of a whirlwind for the newest Bronco. In the beginning, it appeared Shipley would end up at BYU, but a late push by Boise State sealed the deal for the Broncos.

"It feels like a huge weight is lifted off my shoulders," said Shipley. "It's nice to know that I have found my home and it's the perfect place for me. It's an exciting time right now."

So, what can Bronco fans expect to see from Tanner Shipley?

"I'm versatile and I'm always going to give it my all," he said. "I'm selfless and always willing to do what I can to help the team win," he added.
