Setting up a visit to Nebraska?

Nebraska is trying to end with a flurry and they are looking for another wide receiver in the 2013 class. They have targeted this Houston commitment who says that he is now considering a visit to see Lincoln.

Donald Gage has been picking up a number of offers since committing to Houston. The 6-foot-0 and 175-pound Gage from Zachary (La.) just picked up a big offer from the Huskers yesterday.

"Nebraska offered me yesterday morning," Gage said. "I think that the offer is interesting because they have a really good offense.

"I have been talking with Coach Terry Joseph and we talked about their schemes, what they like to do with the ball and it's not the old option offense anymore."

The conversations that Gage has had with Nebraska leads him to believe that he and any other wide receiver would like to play in an offense like Nebraska has. "Oh yeah, I think that I could fit it," Gage said. "What wide receiver wouldn't fit in or want to be part of an offense like that?"

Up to this point there has been a clear message that Gage will not take any other official visits. But with Nebraska that could loosen up a bit. An official visit for this weekend could be set up this weekend.

"My parents are definitely thinking about it. We will have a final decision by Thursday. I have an in-home with Coach Terry Joseph and Coach Bo Pelini on Thursday."

Gage still considers himself committed to U of H. However, he admits that he has interest in listening to what Nebraska has to say this week. "I am still solid to Houston, but I am interested in Nebraska."

A minor reason is why things might open up in Nebraska's favor is Gage's father. His dad is a Nebraska fan according to Donald. It was fun for Donald to deliver the news of a Nebraska offer to his father.

"Oh yeah, he's a Husker all the way. I told him when I got the offer. I told him that I was talking with Bo Pelini and they offered. He was just giggling."

Nebraska is looking for some explosive play makers and Gage is just that. Gage is a Junior Olympian and won the long jump in nationals last year. He is also trying for a three-peat in the state meet this year.

"I was in the Junior Olympics and I won nationals my junior year in the long jump. I have already qualified for state and I am trying to make it three state titles in a row in the long jump. My best long jump is 23'6"."
