OLB McGee Still Open

Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) linebacker Reggie McGee was committed to Houston at one time, but it now open and looking for another school. He updated FOXSportsNEXT on his recruitment.

Reggie McGee thought his college plans were settled, but it changed when Houston dropped him and left him without a school.

Now, McGee is waiting on schools, with the biggest issue being many programs are already filled at outside linebacker.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound McGee, who played at Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) is hearing from several schools, including Purdue and Ohio.

"I'm still in the process of talking to coaches and seeing where scholarships are available, and who is going to commit and not going to commit," McGee said." I've been talking to Purdue a little bit, but that's all it is right now. They said they like my film."

McGee was having discussions with Purdue's former staff before he committed to Houston in the summer, but that group was let go at the end of the season.

"It's kind of picking back up with them, but nothing is promised," McGee said. "They don't know what they can do yet."

At this point, McGee said he is trying to remain upbeat and positive about the situation while awaiting answers.

"I'm just looking for an opportunity," he said. "I am looking for a school with a good sports marketing program. As far football, I feel as though if I get an opportunity, then I could work my way up and compete to get on the field. I'm not looking for promises."
