Kentucky fans will have an opportunity to see two of the Wildcats' top basketball recruiting targets on Saturday as Jahlil Okafor and Skal Labissiere come to Louisville's Broadbent Arena for the RedStateBlueState Series.
Okafor, who is rated the No. 1 center and No. 5 prospect overall for 2014 by FOX Sports and Scout, will lead his Chicago Whitney Young squad up against Labissiere and Evangelical Christian School of Cordova, Tenn., in a 4:30 p.m. ET tipoff at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
Whitney Young is currently ranked No. 5 in the USA Today Super 25 computer ratings. The 6-foot-10 Okafor is averaging more than 20 points and 10 rebounds per game and has drawn scholarship offers from programs like UK, Louisville, Michigan State, Ohio State, Duke, Illinois and Arizona.
Labissiere is a 6-foot-9 center in the 2015 class who has drawn early attention from Kentucky and several other top programs like Memphis, Georgetown, Tennessee and Texas. A native of Haiti, he relocated to the Memphis area three years ago after narrowly escaping the devastating earthquake that ravaged his home country.
Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster and ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000. They will also be available at the Freedom Hall box office. For more details on the event, visit www.RedStateBlueStateSeries.com.
The RedStateBlueState Series will return to Louisville on March 3 for another marquee matchup between Andrew Wiggins' Huntington (W.Va.) Prep squad and Dakari Johnson's Montverde Academy of Florida. Wiggins is the No. 1 player in the Class of 2013 and UK's top remaining target this spring. Johnson is a five-star 2013 center who recently committed to John Calipari's Wildcats.
