Hoops Commit #2

After pouring in hours of hard work, the UTSA Basketball staff received some really good news on Friday afternoon. The commitment of a heralded West Coast prospect who was once a PAC 12 commit to USC.

The jump to C-USA is looming and will be here very soon. An upgrade in overall talent is needed and the staff just added a key piece with the commitment of Larry Lewis from Westwind Prep.

Lewis is a 6'2" 185lb combo guard who can play either the point or two guard. He's known for having good range, having good ball handling skills, and being able to put the ball in the hole. Whether it's a jump shot or being able to create of the dribble, Lewis is skilled offensively.

Lewis becomes the 2nd commitment in UTSA's 2013 class. Luke Wilshire of SA Johnson committed and signed with UTSA during the early signing period. Wilshire is a 6'5" 195lb shooting guard/wing.

Westwind Prep is one of two powerhouse prep programs West of Texas. The other being Findlay Prep. Establishing a pipeline to Westwind could be very beneficial to UTSA in the future.
