Leveni Pleased After OSU Home Visit

Vili Leveni was upbeat when he contacted us Friday night to tell us he had his home visit with Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer. The standout defensive end from Hurst (L.D. Bell), Texas also told us something else that suprised us.

"I'm about 6-4 1/4 and weigh 260 pounds," said Leveni.

Most recruiting sites list Leveni at 6-4, 220 pounds. Asked what he played at this season, he told us that he was between 245 and 250 pounds.

It is obvious that Leveni will play bigger in college, and he said he still runs a 4.69 in the forty.

"The visit with Coach Spencer was good, and he talked with my mom (Mele) and he visited my dad (Manase) at work. Coach Spencer is a good guy and now I have a lot to think about. I really plan to make my announcement on signing day," explained Leveni.

Earlier this week, he said Utah, the school he originally gave a verbal commitment, was out of the picture, and he would be deciding between Oklahoma State and Utah State.

Leveni had 41 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and four sacks this past season and earned 6-5A All-District first team honors for the second season in a row for the L.D. Bell Blue Raiders.
