The trip to visit Illinois was not his first or his last.
The trip to Illinois was good," said Hendrix. "This was like my third time visiting and I saw some new parts of the campus. My overall goal was to go over and learn more about the staff and get to know them a little better.
"I feel I accomplished that and they want me to come back over for a spring practice or their spring game. If I keep going over there they might get tired of seeing my face, but I've talked with my family and it's something we're definitely planning to do.
As for his stop in Bloomington, Hendrix knows he must make a return trip to see more.
"I didn't get a chance to see the entire campus but what I saw was real nice," said Hendrix. "The field was nicer than I expected and getting the chance to speak with Coach (Kevin) Wilson and the other staff members was great. We had a great time at the basketball game and they would like me to visit for a spring practice in March. I hope to get over there and see more of the campus and program."
Hendrix knows the Hoosiers are a work in progress.
"I know traditionally the program has not been there. But I've been following Coach Wilson and feel he's doing the right things to turn it around. When I go back up in the spring I'll look to see more of the campus."
While hearing from several other programs Hendrix only has one trip planned at this time.
"I've been talking with Purdue and Coach (Marcus) Freeman," said Hendrix. "As soon as I get a chance I plan on setting up a visit there. I'm also looking to visit Northwestern and West Virginia as well this spring."
