Robinson Discusses Decision

With Signing Day approaching, senior Lavonte Robinson felt like he knew where he wanted to end up. Check out what the middle linebacker has to say about heading to Eastern Michigan.

5-foot-11, 230 pound middle linebacker Lavonte Robinson always felt like Eastern Michigan was the place for him.

"The fact that they're close to home and offered me my junior year then stuck by me was really big. It feels like a family there, and I'd be well-liked."

When the senior officially committed to Eastern Michigan, his future coaches couldn't contain their excitement.

"I called Coach English and he was excited. I could hear it in his voice. Then he spoke with my mom. She said he was signing, "I'm so excited and I just can't hide it."

Robinson hopes to go in and make an immediate impact on the team.

"The coaches told me they graduated their senior linebacker so the spot is open. Just because I'm a freshman doesn't mean that I'm not going to go for the spot. I'm going to give it my all and compete for the top spot. There's no doubt in my mind I won't perform to my greatest potential."

Robinson will be signing his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.
