Okonkwo Goes Orange

The Fontana (Calif.) Summit cornerback, Charles Okonkwo, flips his commitment to the Pac-12...

Fontana (Calif.) Summit cornerback Charles Okonkwo committed to San Diego State just nine days ago.

But when a Pac-12 offer came on Tuesday, Okonkwo couldn't turn it down.

"Oregon State offered me and I committed," said Okonkwo. "They'd been my favorite school for a while."

The three-star will join his teammate, Justin Strong, who committed to the Beavers in September.

"We're really excited about playing together," said Okonkwo.

Okonkwo said he spoke with Oregon State head coach Mike Riley, who offered him and got the news of his commitment.

"I talked to Coach Riley, Coach (Mark) Banker and Coach (Rod) Perry and they're all really excited," said Okonkwo. "They think I can come in and play early."

Okonkwo said he's thrilled to play in the Pac-12.

"It's really exciting that I'll get to play in the Pac-12," said Okonkwo.
