Cast from the same mold as former Vol tight end Luke Stocker, this rangy young man has the potential to provide a vertical threat in the Vol passing game, as well as a solid blocker in the run game.

Rated a three-star prospect by FOX Sports NEXT, A.J. Branisel is a 6-foot-4, 225-pounder from Euclid, Ohio. He earned first-team all-district, all-conference and all-state honors as a junior in 2011. Branisel caught 17 passes for 411 yards as a sophomore at Notre Dame Dame-Cathedral High in 2010, then followed with 35 catches for 536 yards and six TDs as a junior. He finished off his prep career with 27 receptions for 402 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior, helping the Lions to qualify for Ohio's Division III playoffs.
