"After talking to my family and Coach Harriott, I just felt like it was an opportunity that I really couldn't pass up. Just being able to play on the big stage of the SEC and my opportunity to go there and possibly play as a freshman if I do what I'm supposed to do – there was just a lot of great things about it," he said.
The University School (Fort Lauderdale, FL) standout certainly didn't take this decision lightly. He thought about it long and hard and really had a tough time coming up with a final choice in the end.
"It was very difficult actually. Just trying to figure out which school is the best fit for me and just trying to make sure I make the right decision – that was the hardest thing," he said.
"I honestly felt like I would overthink thing and think about so many different possibilities of what would happen at different schools."
Moore is thrilled to have this whole process behind him and he's quite content with his choice.
"I'm really excited. I talked to some players who are already committed to South Carolina and stuff and we are excited to get up there and make an impact. I'm so excited to have this done," Moore said.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker said he's excited to contribute to the Gamecocks program and hopes to make an immediate impact.
"They recruited me to come in there and play the Will position, it's basically like a more athletic Mike linebacker," he said.
"I'll be able to play more in space and more in the box, it's kind of like what I do here at University School so I'm really familiar with it."
Moore capped off his senior season with a state championship victory and he hopes to win a National Championship in a Gamecocks uniform.
