Chad Kanoff discusses signing with Vandy

Quarterback Chad Kanoff of Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, Calif.) signed with the Vanderbilt Commodores on Wednesday. Look inside for a photo and quotes from Kanoff.

"It feels really good to be a Commodore," said Kanoff. "I'm not going up there with any expectations other than being the best player I can be and continue to get better. When I was being recruited the coaches said they liked my size and how I could turn negatives into positives. I consider myself in-between pro-style and duel-threat at quarterback and think I'll fit in their system well."

Kanoff had a small gathering with at his home with his parents on National Signing Day. Afterward, he celebrated over the phone with Coach Franklin and Coach Pry.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback was a 2 1/2 year starter for Wolverines football. He was named All-CIF Southern California and was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the Mission League. He has an older sister, Katherine, who is a volleyball player at Amherst College.
