Hurlie Brown was part of two national championship teams at the University of Miami back in the 80s. After spending a couple seasons on the football support staff, he will now be a full-time assistant for the Hurricanes.
Brown spent the last two seasons working as Senior Football Operators Coordinator. That job included a variety of roles, including organizing official visits for incoming recruits.
Brown spent four seasons as an assistant coach (defensive backs) at Louisiana-Lafayette before joining Golden's staff a couple years ago.
Brown, originally from Merritt Island High in central Florida, started his coaching career as a graduate assistant on Dennis Erickson's staff back in 1992.
Brown spent a few seasons playing pro football before re-joining the coaching ranks in the late 1990's.
Brown will coach a talented group of running backs, headlined by sophomore Duke Johnson, and that also includes incoming freshman Augustus Edwards.
