Florida DB has five offers

Kam Lott is a talented defensive back prospect from First Coast High in Jacksonville, and he tells Scout that five schools have already offered.

First Coast High in Jacksonville has been one of the top prep programs in north Florida in recent years. They will have a loaded roster again in 2013, and one of the most talented players on it will be defensive back Kam Lott.

At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Lott has the ability and experience to play either cornerback or safety. He is skilled at doing both but his size and cover skills make him a legit corner prospect. Schools are already taking notice.

"Minnesota, Akron, Iowa State, Indiana, and South Carolina have all offered," Lott said. "Minnesota, USF, Georgia Tech, and South Carolina would be my top four."

Lott, who finished his junior season with 30 tackles and five interceptions, talked about some of the things he'll be looking for in a school.

"The academics and if it feels like home," he said. "I'll see if I'm comfortable with the coaches, and I want a chance to play early."

Lott will likely continue emerging as one of the top defensive back prospects in the Jacksonville area for the 2014 class so stay on Scout for more.
