Richard grew up in a household of USC fans but Oregon is who he's been rooting for the past couple of years.
"I love the way they use their running backs in their offense," said Richard. "They do a real good job of getting them touches."
But now, Richard is open to everyone.
"Now that I'm being recruited, I'm open to everyone and don't really have a favorite school anymore," said Richard. "I'm really interested in a lot of schools."
Richard got his first offer in the fall from UCLA, and attended a handful of UCLA games. Arizona and Arizona State followed suit.
"I'm going out to Arizona and Arizona State soon to check out both of those schools," said Richard. "I've been to UCLA a couple of times for games and to check it out. Coach (Steve) Broussard is recruiting me to UCLA and Coach (Todd) Graham at Arizona State and I talk to Coach Rudy Burgess there. Coach (Robert) Anae was recruiting me at Arizona."
Richard plans to attend USC's Junior Day later this month and will camp at USC, UCLA, Arizona and Arizona State.
"I'm not in a rush to decide, I would like to go through the whole process," said Richard.
"He's like a mentor to me and a father figure," said Richard. "He's really made me a better running back."
Richard has a 2.8 GPA and took the SAT last month and plans to take the ACT later this spring.
As a junior, he ran for 1,722 yards and 24 touchdowns.
