D.J. Gillins decided back in November Texas Tech was the place to be. The 6'3 195-pound signal caller checks in from Jacksonville (FL) Eagle's View Academy High School and caught up with Scout.com

D.J. Gillins is a three star quarterback according to Scout.com that comes in at number 26 in the country at his position. Gillins picked Texas Tech over schools such as Florida International, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Troy, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

"I am going to the Elite 11 and NFTC camps. I will be at Duke and Kentucky Spring practices. My strengths are that I can stay in the pocket and I am pretty good at hitting the check down. I am also mobile when needed to run. I probably have a few weaknesses in my game. I really dont know right now but there is always room for improvement."
