Tampa RB hopes to add offer on Junior Day

Ish Witter of Tampa (Fla.) Alonso High School has picked up one scholarship offer and hopes his weekend trip to Louisville lands him another.

Like many of Louisville's Junior Day visitors, Ish Witter, a 5-foot-8, 180-pound running back from Tampa (Fla.) Alonso, hopes to leave the Derby City on Saturday evening with a scholarship offer from the Cardinals.

Witter has already collected one offer and others may soon follow suit.

"Rutgers offered me and I'm talking to Louisville, USF, UConn, Georgia and Georgia Tech," he told Cardinal Authority on Friday. "It felt real good to get the first one and I hope to add to it in a little bit."

His trip to Louisville will be his first such trip of the season, but not his last.

"I'm leaving soon for Louisville's junior day and then on March 2 I'm going to Mississippi State's junior day," he said.

While in Louisville, Witter will visit the U of L campus, football facitilies and attend the men's basketball game against Seton Hall at the KFC Yum! Center.

"I want to see how nice the campus is, talk to the coaches and make a relationship with them. Hopefully they'll give me an offer when I go there."

As a junior, Witter was slowed by an injured ankle for much of the season, but still managed to rush for 902 yards.
