Arkansas signee Bobby Portis will be trying to win his third straight state title with Little Rock Hall as he and several other Razorback recruiting targets try to advance in their respective classifications to next week's championship weekend at Little Rock's Barton Coliseum.

Those wanting to see a future Razorback hoopster and several other Arkansas recruiting targets can certainly do so this week.

Little Rock Hall's Bobby Portis (6-10, 220) – one of the Razorbacks' two 2013 signees – will open play Tuesday in the Class 6A state tournament in Greenwood.

The Warriors are trying for their fourth straight state title and will begin the quest against Little Rock Fair at 2:30 p.m.

"That's the most important goal left on my list – to win the state tournament and make it four in a row for Hall and three in a row for me," Portis said. "This us what we have played for all year."

Also competing in Greenwood this week is Little Rock Parkview junior guard Anton Beard (6-0, 180), whose team opens play Wednesday night at 8:30 against Texarkana.

Beard de-committed from Missouri recently and is now considering Arkansas among several schools.

Forrest City big man Trey Thompson (6-9, 230) – another 2014 target of the Razorbacks – leads his team in the Class 5A Tournament in Pine Bluff, but the Mustangs don't start play until Thursday at 5:30 against Magnolia.

East Poinsett County freshman Malik Monk (6-3, 170) and his Warriors play Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. against Clarendon in the Class 2A state tournament at Marmaduke.

The 7A tournament gets underway Wednesday in Fayetteville with Conway freshman Adrian Moore (6-3, 170) – who also has an offer from Arkansas - leading the Wampus Cats against Van Buren at 2:30 p.m.

Bryant sophomore K.J. Hill – possibly the state's best basketball-football standout – and his Hornets play Cabot at 8:30 Wednesday night in Fayetteville.

North Little Rock sophomore KeVaughn Allen (6-3, 180) – also sporting an Arkansas offer among eight he has already received – will see his first state tournament action Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The semifinals of all tournaments will be on Saturday with all classification finals next weekend at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock.
