Three Showing Interest
Diquan Walker is a talented running back that rushed for over 1,000 yards as a junior. Walker is from Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic and is coached by John Davis. "This kid has speed," Davis said. "He can fly. Diquan is one of those kids that can stick his foot in the ground and give you a great burst." Walker, 5-foot-11 and 180-pounds, may have more upside though on the other side of the ball. "He played safety in nickel situations for us last year but I would like to see him get schooled up to play cornerback. There are so many 5-11 running backs and not many at that size that can play corner. I think he has the skill set to do it and do it well." For Walker, he believes his long term future is on defense. "I think my future is at cornerback," Walker said. "I can run and I can cover. I have speed and I can be physical. I will get more opportunity to do that on defense this season." Last year he was a full time running back, rushing for 1,100 yards and a part time cornerback in nickel situations. At this time Walker doesn't have any offers but a trio of teams are showing a lot of interest. "Right now Ball State, Bowling Green and Boston College are recruiting me the hardest," Walker said. "No one has offered and I don't have a school favorite. It just depends on what happens with the offers."
