Fresh off their 33-7 pounding of Penn State, the Hurricanes were assigned the top position in the debut TheInsiders.com Top 25 College Football Poll.
Florida, which crunched Marshall 49-14 behind sophomore quarterback Rex Grossman, is No. 2, and Oklahoma, which blasted Air Force 44-3, is No. 3.
Rounding out TheInsiders.com poll's initial Top Five are Florida State and Nebraska.
