Scout.com partners with HoopTV.net, the industry leader in sports video production, for basketball prospect videos.

SEATTLE, June 6, 2005 - Scout.com, the industry leader in basketball recruiting, has entered into an exclusive strategic alliance with HoopTV.net, the industry leader in sports video production.

The partnership will enhance Scout.com’s basketball recruiting coverage year-round with video. HoopTV.net will be the majority provider of basketball recruiting videos for the Scout.com network. As many as 150 videos each year, all exclusive to Scout.com, can be seen on the network.

Links to videos are posted on player pages and also can be accessed via the Video drop-down menu on Scout.com team sites. To view some of the first batch of Scout-HoopTV videos, please visit the following:

Scout.com’s national basketball recruiting editor sees the partnership as another element to the company’s extensive recruiting coverage. "When we began looking into adding a video component to our basketball coverage, one name kept popping up and that was HoopTV.net," Scout.com’s Dave Telep said.

"Our partnership with HoopTV.net, in our mind, merges the leading producer of college basketball recruiting information with the clear industry leader in high school basketball videos. HoopTV.net’s reputation as an organization devoted to quality and excellence is exactly the kind of partner we sought. HoopTV.net is cutting edge in terms of their vision and capabilities and we think there is reason to be excited over this deal."

HoopTV.net’s CEO Mark Owens thinks the merger has major implications for the Scout.com network. “We are thrilled to enter in partnership with Scout.com,” he said. “In terms of reach and scope, they are without peers in the business of covering basketball recruiting around the nation. Together, with the video products we bring into the equation, we believe the content available to Scout.com subscribers will be unrivaled on the internet or in print.”

Scout.com plans on periodically releasing player videos. The highlight packages, at least two minutes each in length, have been designed to give subscribers an overall feel for the player’s game. Unlike other video ensembles, Scout.com and HoopTV.net attempt to merge multiple games into one single package in an attempt to provide diverse content on each individual player.

"Both companies are taking quantum leaps forward with the partnership," Fred Smith, HoopTV.net’s director of West Coast operations said. "Scout.com subscribers will now have access to the largest library of grassroots basketball footage in the nation, and HoopTV.net will be able to expose its products to the largest, most devoted fan bases on the web. I believe that this partnership will further solidify Scout.com’s place as the leader in basketball recruiting information."
