Kyle Wright overtook rabid competition to earn a berth on the inaugural TheInsiders.com / CNNSI.com All-America Team, as well as the top spot on the revised TheInsiders.com Hot 100 list of football recruits.

Ernie Sims, two prospects with which every rabid fan of college football recruiting is familiar, leads the parade of talent represented in the inaugural TheInsiders.com / CNNSI.com High School All-America Team, as well as the latest TheInsiders.com National Hot 100 recruits.

Both lists were compiled by TheInsiders.com's group of highly regarded national and regional scouts and experts, and appear in both this network and CNNSI.com, which is the online entity for Sports Illustrated.

Several extremely tough choices were made for TheInsiders.com / CNNSI.com All-America Team, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Two positions in particular were very difficult to determine, quarterback and wide receiver.

This season there are three elite quarterbacks - Wright, JaMarcus Russell. Wright is the total package, blessed with everything a quarterback needs to be successful at any level - size, arm strength, knowledge of the game, mobility, leadership, confidence, and the ability to make the big play. Leak has those intangibles, plus he has the stats. He has thrown for a mind-boggling 15,593 yards and a national-record 185 touchdowns. Russell is the "rawest" of the bunch, but he has the best arm in the country. He has terrific size and mobility. In the end, with coaching and finding the right system, it wouldn't be a surprise if he became the best of this elite bunch. But Wright gets the nod, as he has all season, as TheInsiders.com's top-rated quarterback.

Wide receiver also was difficult, but Andre Caldwell ended up as the picks. This duo is summed up in two words - play makers! They make big play after big play. Lewis is elusive and physical and Caldwell is so explosive.

Mike Jones round out the offensive line.

Defensively, this team is led by the linebackers - Sims, Earl Everett. Sims is the nation's top overall prospect and the other two are not too far behind. Jefferson is the biggest hitter of the bunch while Everett has unlimited potential.

The defensive front consists of Lawrence Dampeer. Woodley is a high school outside linebacker. But at 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds, he likely will put his hand down and be an end. Robinson and Dampeer are two 300-pounders that are athletic and move exceptionally well.

The secondary is a great group with safeties Tarell Brown. All four players have blazing speed and athleticism.

Antonio Cromartie is TheInsiders.com's first team athlete. Cromartie has great size and runs like a gazelle. He is an outstanding wide receiver, cornerback, safety and kick returner. Last week, he was named the USA Today Defensive Player of the Year.

This is our third revision of TheInsiders.com National Hot 100. The final version will be released on National Signing Day.
