Detroit - As expected, Detroit Southeastern and USA Basketball star Brandan Kearney committed to Michigan State at at 12 noon press conference today.
Kearney becomes the 1st member of the class of 2011 for Michigan State and Coach Tom Izzo and was ecstatic about his decision.
"Everything at that University has been what (I was looking for)," he said. "I really liked the way Coach Izzo just sat us down and talked to us. It just made me feel that I could be real comfortable and have a real good relationship with him."
In the end, Kearney told GSN the same thing most recent recruits have said about MSU...it just feels like home.
"That played a very big part in my decision. I wanted to go somewhere were I felt wanted. That played a big part in my decision."
Kearney said it made him feel special to be the piece that MSU builds around for 2011 and now he can concentrate on bringing a city and state championship to Southeastern.
