Jaguars Are Consistently Inconsistent

The Jaguars are trying to figure out how to get off their roller coaster as they prepare to meet the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The Chiefs are 1-6 coming off a bye, but that doesn't mean the Jaguars can be counted on to post a victory.
After all, they went to Tennessee last week to face a Titans team that was 0-6 and had lost to the Jaguars, 37-17, on Oct. 4.
But the Jaguars were blown out, 30-13, as the Titans ran for 305 yards, including 228 by
Chris Johnson
.
It was the third time this year the 3-4 Jaguars have been blown out. They also lost 31-17 to Arizona and 41-0 in Seattle.
They're having an up and down year that resembles a roller coaster.
They lost their first two, won three of the next four to get to .500 at the bye and then were blown out by the Titans.
"We've got to figure out what we did wrong and fix this first," running back
Maurice Jones-Drew
said. "You always have to fix yourself first, look in the mirror and see what you did wrong or right and then we have to figure out how we're going to attack Kansas City right now have to fix what is going on around here."
The Jaguars wasted 80- and 79-yard touchdown runs by Jones-Drew against the Titans. He ran for 177 yards on just eight carries, but he took little consolation in the big runs because the team lost.
"You can rush for five touchdowns and not win and what does that mean? This is a team game, not an individual sport. It's all about wins. If the team didn't win, it doesn't matter (about the stats)," he said.
He also said the team needs more consistency.
"You can't keep going great win blowout, great win blowout or close game blowout. We can't do that. We have to stay consistent. That's the difference. I think we have the talent. Talent is not an issue. Age is not issue. Executing (is the issue)," he said.
The Jaguars' pass defense, ranked 31st in the league, also has to stop Chiefs quarterback
Matt Cassel
.
