Luella (GA)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 89
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 7/18/09
Committed Over: Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi State, Toledo, Troy, UCF
Scouting Report: Bonner is somewhat of a tweener between corner and safety, but will likely get a shot at corner first. He has great length for a corner, but more speed like a safety. He is physical and he has very good instincts, but needs to work on his recovery speed and change of direction. - South Recruiting Manager Chad Simmons

First Colonial (VA)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 39
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 9/27/09

Scouting Report: Dew is an explosive player that really jumps out at you when you watch his games. He is a good athlete that can play the ball high and come down with over most opponents. He is good in run defense and has a nose for the ball. He is also shows tremendous speed blitzing off the edge. He is so effective and aggressive moving forward that sometimes he can get caught up and doesn't break down in time to make the play. John Wallpher / Scout
Caleb Farris

Rockbridge County (VA)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 37
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 4/25/09
Committed Over: Boston College, Connecticut, East Carolina, Marshall, Maryland, Virginia
Scouting Report: Farris plays through his block consistently which is why his opponents often end up on their backs. He likes to get on his blocks and maul the defender. He is very good with his run blocking and overpowers his opponent. He needs to get more bend in his hips and can be to narrow with his base sometimes. He has the frame and the tools to be very successful in college. John Wallpher / Scout
Kyle Fuller

Mount Saint Joseph (MD)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 83
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 7/17/09

Scouting Report: Fuller missed most of the season with an injury. He came back for the Maryland Crab Bowl practices and game and did very well. He is a smart player in coverage and closes well on the ball. He is smooth in his backpedal and turning and running with the receiver. He plays the ball without interfering with the receiver. He needs to add size and gain strength but has the ability to do well at the position. John Wallpher / Scout

QB | 6-0 / 180
Atlantic (FL)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 81
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 5/7/09
Committed Over: Florida State, Oregon, Rutgers
Scouting Report: The first thing you notice about Leal is how productive he’s been playing in one of the toughest areas of high school football in Florida. That’s what quarterbacks are for and Leal does a nice job of doing those things, managing games. He lacks ideal size for a Div 1 QB prospect at 6-feet and 180 and he doesn’t have that big time arm that a lot of people are looking for these days. While he’s a good athlete, he’s not making plays with his legs.
Jerome Lewis
DE | 6-4 / 232
Bishop Kearney (NY)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 53
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 5/26/09
Committed Over: East Carolina, Florida, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse
Scouting Report: Lewis plays in a 3-4 defense and has experience with his hand on the ground and playing in space. He has an outstanding initial burst off the snap and shows good closing speed to get to the ball. He does a good job using his hands to sift through blocks and does a good job in pursuit of the ball carrier. He is a high-motor player who also tackles well. Lewis is a bit raw, but with his excellent burst he has a big upside. – Matt Alkire

DE | 6-3 / 230
Brookville (VA)
Rating:
Scout300: 176
Pos Rank: 24
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 6/6/09
Committed Over: Alabama, LSU, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia, Wake Forest
Scouting Report: McCray uses his hands well to steer blockers off of him while simulaneously keeping his head up to recognize the play. He plays with good leverage which allows him to hold his ground. The combination of his leverage and hands allows him to see plays develop in front of him quickly. Dismissing his blockers quickly makes him a staple in the offensive backfield. Also a standout tight end. Scott Kennedy, Scout.com.

Scouting Report: Shuman has good leg drive and finishes the blocks. He does well chipping and getting to the next level. He will drive opponents onto the ground whenever he gets the chance. He stands upright sometimes and needs to show better bend at the hip level. He does have a great frame to build on and should have the ideal size in college. John Wallpher / Scout
WR | 6-4 / 185
Brooke Point (VA)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 136
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 7/7/09

South Stanly (NC)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 108
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 7/1/09
Committed Over: Arkansas, Auburn, East Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina State
Scouting Report: Former basketball player has just scratched the surface with his football ability. Excellent motor, very low to the ground when coming around the corner, and a great frame that screams for a good strength and conditioning program. Needs major retooling of his technique off the ball and how to use his hands, but his hands are very quick and deceptively strong. - Miller Safrit
Chase Williams
MLB | 6-3 / 235
Loudoun County (VA)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 23
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 7/23/09
Committed Over: LSU, Missouri, New Mexico State, Rice, SMU, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Williams is a top tier player for sure. He has very good size and speed and uses it well. When he hits you, you go down. He is a force against the run and has a knack for making the big play. He finds the gaps and penetrates well but can also drop back into coverage. He has very good straight ahead speed but needs to work on his quickness laterally. He has the athleticism to do it. John Wallpher / Scout
Ricardo Young
QB | 5-11.5 / 155
Woodson (DC)
Rating:
Pos Rank: 48
Committed to: VIRGINIA TECH
Commit Date: 5/7/09
Committed Over: Maryland, Syracuse, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Young is accurate and his arm has gotten stronger over the last two years. He isn’t very big but stands strong in the pocket. He has enough mobility to be a running threat but wants to drop back and pass first. When he runs he does have some wiggle. Will need to work on technique and mechanics but the raw ability is there. John Wallpher / Scout
