Derrick Burns
MLB | 5-10 / 201
Wilmington Area (PA)
Pos Rank: 59
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 2/17/09
TE | 6-4 / 216
St. Ignatius (OH)
Pos Rank: 34
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 7/8/09
Committed Over: Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Indiana, Toledo, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Has good height, but needs to add bulk and strength. Finds open areas and is a reliable target. After the catch, he is not blazing fast, but runs hard and is not afraid of contact. That goes for his blocking too where he is aggressive and has good technique. As he adds more strength, he should become a fine college blocker. - Allen Trieu
Andrew Carswell
WR | 6-5 / 215
Sto-Rox (PA)
Pos Rank: 55
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 7/2/09
Committed Over: Boston College, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina State, Stanford
Scouting Report: Carswell has an outstanding frame and could potentially reach 230-pounds and still be athletic. He is very smooth and fluid and has huge hands. He catches just about anything thrown his way. He doesn’t necessarily run the fastest forty-yard dash, but he has game speed. He could eventually grow into a tight end.Bob Lichtenfels - Scout.com
T.J. Clemmings
DE | 6-6 / 260
Paterson Catholic (NJ)
Pos Rank: 6
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 6/22/09
Committed Over: Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Rutgers
Scouting Report: Clemmings makes minor mistakes that a new player will make as getting high and not staying low all the time, but this kid has amazing upside. He is a physical specimen at 265-pounds of solid muscle. He gets a tremendous upfield push and runs down players half his size in pursuit. He is a disruptive force in the middle of a defense. He is one of the best jumbo athletes in the country. Bob Lichtenfels -Scout.com
OG | 6-6 / 350
Lebanon (PA)
Pos Rank: 30
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 7/21/09
Committed Over: Boston College, Connecticut, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Syracuse
Aaron Donald

Penn Hills (PA)
Scout300: 228
Pos Rank: 25
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 4/23/09
Committed Over: Akron, Michigan State, Rutgers, Toledo, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Donald may not have ideal size, but he more than makes up for that with his strength, speed and relentless attacking style of play. Donald is very quick off the snap and is always getting a good push up field. Donald shows very good lateral movement and backside pursuit. He is a tough kid that often faces double teams and wins most of those battles. --Bob Lichtenfels/Scout.com
Andre Givens
RB | 5-10 / 185
Hubbard (OH)
Pos Rank: 60
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 7/24/09
Committed Over: Cincinnati, Louisville, Michigan State, Syracuse, Toledo
Scouting Report: A solid runner with a burst, Givens best tool is his willingness to use his blockers and his vision coming out of the zone blocking scheme. Not only can Givens do it with is legs, he also shows he’s capable of coming out of the backfield and making a play with his hands as a solid target. - Dave Berk
Anthony Gonzalez
QB | 6-2.5 / 185
Liberty (PA)
Scout300: 248
Pos Rank: 13
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 9/15/09
Committed Over: Florida State, Maryland, Missouri, Penn State, Stanford, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Gonzalez does have a very strong arm and can be deadly accurate at times. Throws a very pretty deep ball and hits receivers in stride with the ball. Athletic quarterback that can buy time for his receivers or tuck the ball and make plays with his feet. A player that has all the tools, but doesn’t have good mechanics and forces things into coverage causing too many turnovers. Simply needs some coaching and discipline. - Matt Alkire
Brandon Ifill
S | 5-11 / 180
Penn Hills (PA)
Pos Rank: 55
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 12/21/09
Committed Over: Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Ifill has only played defense the last two seasons, but he has caught on quickly. Ifill shows great awareness in coverage and his closing speed got better as the season progressed and he felt more comfortable. Ifill has exceptional ball skills from all the time he spent as a wide receiver. Ifill could play on either side of the ball.--Bob Lichtenfels/Scout.com

Navarro (TX)
Pos Rank: JC
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 11/25/09

Dematha Catholic (MD)
Pos Rank: 27
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 12/12/09
Committed Over: Boston College, California, Maryland, Rutgers, Virginia, Wake Forest
Scouting Report: Its easy to get overshadowed playing with the Kouandjio brothers, but Johnson holds his own. Johnson pulls a lot and is good at it, but he can also be an anchor guard. He is a very good run blocker and has a little bit of work to do in pass pro. Sometimes he comes off the ball like a rocket and sometimes he is a little slower, we want to see more consistency. --Bob Lichtenfels/Scout.com
Jeff Knox
S | 6-2 / 205
Dematha Catholic (MD)
Pos Rank: 53
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 6/14/09
Committed Over: Illinois, Maryland, Penn State
Scouting Report: Knox is a very aggressive defensive player, sometimes too aggressive as he will over run a play from time to time. Knox is a finisher when he makes contact the opposition goes down, very good in the open field. He is versatile and can cover, stop the run and can add a presence in blitz packages.--Bob Lichtenfels/Scout.com
DE | 6-3 / 235
Don Bosco Prep (NJ)
Pos Rank: 11
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 6/28/09

Scouting Report: Murphy's growth and size will dictate where he ends up in college he will either be an end or defensive tackle. He is a disruptive force that just keeps getting better. he is an exceptional pass rusher off the edge combining speed, technique and relentless pursuit. He is also strong enough that he has no problem taking on a lineman at the point of attack and blowing him up.--Bob Lichtenfels/Scout.com
QB | 6-4 / 200
St. Ignatius (OH)
Pos Rank: 32
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 9/29/09
Committed Over: Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Toledo
Scouting Report: Has good size and understanding of the game. Makes sound decisions and takes care of the football. Has good accuracy and hits his receivers in stride. Displays good touch and placement on his passes. Footwork and mechanics can be tweaked, which will help him generate more velocity. Has excellent poise and intangibles. - Allen Trieu
RB | 6-0 / 195
Broad Run (VA)
Pos Rank: 48
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 6/28/09
Committed Over: Maryland, West Virginia
OG | 6-6 / 310
North Olmsted (OH)
Pos Rank: 24
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 7/5/09
Committed Over: Boston College, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin
Scouting Report: Big road grader of an offensive lineman. Plays hard, to the whistle and looks to bury his man. Powerful kid who plays with good leverage in the running game, but is best in a short area and does not have great speed. He is inexperienced in pass protection and will have to work on that part of his game. - Allen Trieu
Brandon Sacco
OG | 6-3.5 / 255
Don Bosco Prep (NJ)
Pos Rank: 53
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 6/28/09
Committed Over: Akron, Boston College, Central Michigan, Miami (Oh), Rutgers, Virginia
Scouting Report: Undersized, but uses good angles and stays low to the ground at the point of attack to get under his opponent's pads and drive them off the ball in the run game. Good use of hands to fight off defenders and keep separations. Has the feet and athleticism to get to the second level and make contact with 'backers and safeties and then sustain his blocks. Pass protection is somewhat of a concern as is adding quality weight. - Matt Alkire
Dan Schneider
TE | 6-4 / 240
Avon Lake (OH)
Pos Rank: 23
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 8/1/09
Committed Over: Cincinnati, Colorado, Florida State, Indiana, Louisville, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Tough, hard-nosed player who could see a position change at the college level. Lacks the height and speed you’d like to see but a solid player and above average athlete.
K.K. Smith
DT | 6-1 / 292
Woodland Hills (PA)
Pos Rank: 63
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 7/6/09
Committed Over: Connecticut, Michigan, Syracuse, West Virginia
Scouting Report: Smith is a fireplug, doesn't possess ideal size but he plays big. Smith has a very quick get off and can often disengage before most linemen deliver a punch. Smith has outstanding speed (4.9) and quick hands. Very solid at the point of attack and in pursuit. Will benefit in college from playing one way. Played against good competition in high school.--Bob Lichtenfels/Scout.com
WR | 6-2 / 205
Milford (NY)
Pos Rank: PG
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 10/17/08
Scouting Report: Thomas is a nicely built athlete that played some running back and therefore, can run after the catch and make people miss in space. Does a good job adjusting to the ball in the air and going up to grab it at its highest point. A tough kid that can use his large frame to shield defenders from the ball and also uses his frame to run through tackles. Quick off the line of scrimmage and does have solid speed in the open field. - Matt Alkire
Kevin Weatherspoon
WR | 5-10 / 170
Clairton (PA)
Pos Rank: 81
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 6/28/09
Committed Over: Illinois, Maryland, Penn State, Syracuse, UCLA, Wisconsin
Scouting Report: Weatherspoon has been making plays for the Bears since he was a freshman. He is silky smooth and has great hands. He is not a burner, but he always seems to find a way to get open. He will likely settle in as a slot receiver in college. He is a fierce competitor and will do whatever it takes to help his team win.Bob Lichtenfels- Scout.com
Eric Williams
S | 6-3 / 205
Pennsbury (PA)
Pos Rank: 73
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 9/8/09
Committed Over: Akron, Boston College, Kent State, Syracuse, Temple, Vanderbilt
Scouting Report: Has only played two years of football at safety and receiver, so automatically he brings great athleticism to a hybrid safety role. Tremendous ball skills with very, very good hands. Very good center fielder that can make plays on the ball. Good closing speed. Jumps routes and can play the pass, but also a physical kid that will play the run physically. Williams just needs time to mature as a player and gain more experience. - Matt Alkire
CB | 5-9 / 180
St. Joseph Regional (NJ)
Pos Rank: 100
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 6/27/09
Committed Over: Akron, Boston College, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Syracuse
Scouting Report: Williams has very quick feet that helped him tremendously at both running back and cornerback in high school and translate well to corner at the collegiate level. He stays low in his backpedal, reads the quarterback’s eyes and gets a great jump on the ball to break up or intercept the pass. Has the hands to intercept the ball and turn into an offensive player on the return. Under the radar kid that probably should have had more offers. - Alkire
Salath Williams
WR | 6-4 / 185
Bishop McDevitt (PA)
Scout300: 295
Pos Rank: 45
Committed to: PITTSBURGH
Commit Date: 6/25/09
Committed Over: Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse
Scouting Report: Williams is a big play receiver that will stretch opposing defenses. He still needs to fill out his 6-foot-3 frame, but he is very athletic and has great ball skills. He can also block very well.
