Ten Vikings among all-timers in draft contest

Nine former Vikings and one current one, Kevin Williams, are among 320 players that will be voted on at NFL.com as the league compiles a list of the 75 most valuable draft picks of all time to celebrate the 75th NFL draft.

Nine former Vikings and one current one have an opportunity to be voted into a collection of NFL players that fans deem the most valuable draft picks of all time.

NFL.com editors chose 320 players that fans will vote for on the league’s web site and whittle down to 75 players.

Safety Joey Browner, defensive end Chris Doleman, defensive end Carl Eller, tight end Steve Jordan, guard Randall McDaniel, wide receiver Randy Moss, defensive tackle Alan Page, quarterback Fran Tarkenton, defensive tackle Kevin Williams and offensive tackle Ron Yary were chosen as Vikings.

The voting is part of the league’s celebration of the 75th NFL draft, which is moving to a three-day event this year, starting in prime time April 22 with the first round, with the second and third rounds starting on at 5 p.m. Central April 23 and then the final four rounds being held throughout the day on Saturday, April 25, starting at 9 a.m. CT.

Voting will be open through April 18, with picks 11 through 75 being unveiled April 19 through April 22. The top-10 picks will be announced during the first round of the draft on April 22. The order of the top 10 will revealed the following evening after the conclusion of the second round (can you stand the drama?).

Top players were chosen from each team. Players will be randomly pitted against each other and fans will vote for them. After selecting winners of 30 random matchups, fans will begin to build their own top-10 lists. After the announcements are made, users then can share their lists and their head-to-head winners on Facebook.
