Joel Cox, Executive Director of Network Development and Marketing
Cox previously served as a principal partner with a marketing consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., where over the course of 10 years he provided marketing, public relations, corporate sponsorship, and strategic planning for organizations such as the Grammy Awards, NCAA Final Four, The National Association of Basketball Coaches, and numerous colleges and universities. Cox is also a founding member of the Kansas Jayhawks website, Phog.net, which is one of the largest and fastest-growing college-team websites in the nation.
Alan McDonald, General Manager, Scout Publishing
McDonald is in his third decade of sports publishing and is considered a pioneer in the team sports business. McDonald now operates the day-to-day operations of the publishing business, responsible for over 37 team publication monthly deadlines. McDonald was the founder of Inside Indiana Magazine in the late eighties, covering athletics for the Hoosiers, and built the publication to a 20,000 circulation. In 1997 McDonald launched a similar publication at the University of Wisconsin, which has now converted to monthly with Scout. McDonald has also published numerous specialty magazines.
Peter Everett, Director of Product
Everett is a veteran in online sports entertainment. From his time building and marketing Internet sports pioneer Quokka Sports to his years leading Yahoo! Sports' market-leading fantasy sports business, Everett has established a wealth of experience building engaging sports properties. Prior to joining Scout, Everett lead the product development efforts for start-up Next Testing in their goal of developing the first-of-its-kind standardized test for athletic performance.
