Position #1001 - Mobile iOS Developer

Scout is looking to complement its engineering team with a mobile app developer who can push the boundaries of what is possible with today’s mobile devices. We are looking for a self-motivated individual that has a passion for building great software and a strong desire to teach others. You want to communicate and interact with your team to help make everyone better at their craft. We're a smart and savvy group of developers drawn from Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and various local startups, we like to solve hard problems and build great stuff. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of Scout’s mobile app initiative and help define its future.

Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent (including demonstrated work experience).
  • Strong Objective-C skills and thorough knowledge of the iOS SDK.
  • Expert with XCode 5 and iOS devices.
  • Experience collaborating on RESTful API designs and advocating for well-factored APIs that support both web and native device applications.
  • Apple App Store deployment experience
Bonus Qualifications
  • Ability to rapidly prototype ideas for review by the business.
  • Working knowledge of Apple’s Push Notification System (APNS).
  • In-app purchase feature development.
  • Software Development Life Cycle experience including source code management such a Git and/or SVN.
  • If you are a sports fan or outdoor enthusiast, that passion will be a plus but not required.
  • Experience with a cross-platform mobile framework such as xamarin (C#).
  • Experience with other mobile platforms such as Android and/or Windows Phone.

You want to communicate and interact with your team to help make everyone better. Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent (including amazing/demonstrated work experience).
  • Expert HTML5 and CSS3 knowledge, preferably with examples that can be viewed.
  • Expert in JavaScript and demonstrated experience with a popular JavaScript framework, such as Google Closure or jQuery.
  • Experience collaborating on RESTful API designs and advocating for well-factored APIs that support both web and native device applications.
  • Understanding of a responsive design with graceful degradation.
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices.
Bonus Qualifications

Position #1005 - Software QA Lead/Manager - Mobile, Web and Server

Do you have experience in quality assurance of core backend services as well as customer facing UI, including mobile? Are you hands-on and willing to help us build a strong QA team over time? This is a unique ground-floor opportunity to have a large impact on Scout’s future. We're a smart, savvy group of developers drawn from Amazon, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and various local startups, we like to solve hard problems and build great stuff.

Required Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science / Engineering, Software Engineering, IS, or other related field and/or at least 4 years’ experience as a Software QA Engineer.
  • At least 1 year experience as team lead or manager, hiring and/or mentoring others.
  • Testing experience on mobile apps, mobile web, PCs and Macs with all major browsers.
  • Strong test plan and test case creation skills.
  • Experience writing scripts in Bash, Node.js,PHP, Perl, JavaScript, Python, or JUnit and utilizing debugging tools such as NUnit, Jasmine, PhantomJs, CasperJs, Xcode, DDMS, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL, RDBMS, and NoSql concepts.
  • Experience with Chef and Vagrant, and continuous Integration systems such as Bamboo, Jenkins, or Travis.
  • Agile experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a passion for testing – born to break things!
  • Strong communication skills.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Ability to code in C#, JAVA or Objective C.
  • Experience with AWS, Redis/NoSQL, Elasticsearch, or Linux.
