The New York Yankees selected outfielder Neil Medchill in the 11th round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of Oklahoma State University. A big-time slugger in the Big 12, he made a seamless transition to wooden bats in his professional debut season, setting the Staten Island single-season home run record.
