Watch Yan Gomes deliver a walk-off single for the Clevleand Indians (Video)

The Cleveland Indians finally have their first walk-off win of the 2016 season thanks to Yan Gomes on Wednesday night.

It took until June 1, but the Cleveland Indians were finally on the right side of a walk-off contest thanks to Yan Gomes against the Texas Rangers.

Gomes took an 11th inning 0-1 pitch from Texas' Alex Claudio back up the middle to score Lonnie Chisenhall. As Chisenhall crossed the plate, the entire Indians bench emptied on to the Progressive Field diamond to tackle the catcher as if it were a 1-on-The World rugby match.

It was a much-needed win for a team struggling to beat elite opponents, and one that is in the thick of a tight race among AL Central rivals. The Tribe now sits 2.5 games back of the Central-leading Kansas City Royals with the two teams locking horns for a  four game slate to close out the week.
