AFA's Latoya Howell Wins Her 2nd MWC Award

For the second time this season AFA guard Latoya Howell has been awarded the Mountain West Conference player of the week award. Howell's 23 points and 11 assists piloted the AFA team to an 86-61 win over Cal State Sacramento.

   Latoya is AFA's 5-4 sophomore guard extrodinaire from Chicago, Ill.,(Queen of Peace HS). Howell's eleven assistss is an Air Force Division I record. Howell's efforts provided her third double-double of the season. She shot 6-of-12 from the field and 10-of-11 from the free throw line. She also recorded five steals and three rebounds in the game. Howell currently leads the Mountain West Conference in steals with 3.38 per game and assists with 7.38 per game. She also ranks third in scoring with 17.8 points per game.
