The Akron Zips and head coach J.D. Brookhart know you need to find sleepers to compete in the MAC. You need to find the kids that the Big Ten and Big East schools aren't all over. Akron and other MAC schools get their share of kids with BCS offered prospects, but the sleeper or under-the-radar guys are their bread and butter.

Akron has done well recruiting Beaver County in Pennsylvania and the Zips hope to have struck gold again in Jake Delmonico. The talented wide receiver had an outstanding senior season and earned himself a few D-I scholarships in the process.

Bethlehem (Pa.) Liberty wide receiver Devin Street is one of the best pass catchers we have see so far in our combine/camp travels. He was under utilized last season, so he has to show out in camps to earn offers, but once schools see him in action that is usually not an issue.

Sean Farr had a monster season last year after transferring to Dunbar High in Baltimore, Md. Currently he only holds two offers, but as college coaches will likely flock to Dunbar this season to watch Tavon Austin, there is a good chance Farr will receive plenty of looks this fall.

L.A. Pierce College CB Chaz Russell is one of the top cover-men in the JC ranks and he's been working hard in the classroom to make himself available to sign this summer. Recently a MAC school has come into the picture and he could take an official visit there in the next few weeks and enroll once he's done with his summer classes.
