"Coach (Bruce) Kittle from Oklahoma contacted me and asked if I was interested in taking an official visit there," explained Meadows. "I was like sure, why not and that is how everything got started."
This past spring and summer Meadows at times looked to narrow his schools of interest and never looked to rush to making a choice. That strategy may prove a good thing for the Sooners as Meadows learns more about the program.
"I really don't know anything much about their program," said Meadows. "I'm going in with an open mind to see what I like about them and it all starts tomorrow (Friday) and will last through this weekend.
"I didn't think I was good enough to play at a program like Oklahoma. But they said they are really interested and feel I'm good enough to play for them."
Lakota West head coach Larry Cox explained to FOXSportsNEXT.com how the Sooners are looking to make sure Meadows sees as much on his visit as possible.
"Kyle is all jacked up right now and for good reasons," said Cox. "He's in basketball now so he's going to miss their scrimmages this weekend. But Oklahoma wants him out there and he's going to leave here at like seven or eight in the morning. They want him out there for walk through, team meal and all that stuff."
Meadows is heading to Norman with an open mind and looking to hear positive things while on his visit. "I hope they do offer me," said Meadows. "But right now I'm not for sure if they are going to or not. But if they do they would be at the top of my offer list."
FOXSportsNEXT.com will check back with Meadows after he returns to learn more about his visit and if the Sooners offered.
