2018 Akron Football Recruiting Prospects

EARLIER THIS MONTH the WSU coaches were busy as ever hosting recruits for unofficial visits. Cougfan subscribers just read about 4-star prospect Reggie Hughes, but there was another star out of California who was recently blown away by his Pullman experience. The 6-4, 235-pounder told CF.C that trip is still fresh in his mind, and WSU is among his leaders. Could a decision be coming soon?

Cincinnati St. Xavier quarterback Chase Wolf is one of the top players at his position in the Midwest, and he holds a very impressive offer list. Wolf is looking to make his decision in the not too distant future.

Markese Stepp is just about ready to get back on the field, although he'll wait another week before hitting The Opening circuit. Attending the Blue-Gold Game this weekend and doing some recruiting for the Irish comes first. Stepp singled out a few names he'll be targeting.

Archbishop Hoban (Akron, Ohio) athlete Nate Bauer has started to emerge at the power-five level, gathering offers this spring from Boston College, Syracuse, Minnesota and, most recently, Maryland. The Terps represented the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder’s second Big Ten verbal April 12.

BEREA, Ohio -- Four-star Tyreke Smith impressed greatly last weekend and he punched his ticket to Oregon for The Opening in the process. The defensive end holds a monster offer list, and is considering all schools right now.

North Ft. Meyers (FL) athlete Joseph Wilkins is up to 14 offers after a junior season that saw him haul in 16 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Wilkins totaled 28 tackles and three interceptions while helping the Red Knights to a 6-3 record. Colleges have taken notice, including NC State who became one of Wilkins most recent offers.
