Alabama Practicing To Fine Tune Plan
"I think the guys have kept a pretty good balance of what we are trying to do." Alabama Coach Nick Saban said. "We emphasized to them that we are only a good team when we play at our best, and we've sort of proven that throughout the year this year. When we have played really well, we've been pretty good and sometimes when we haven't played as well as we needed to that's been pretty costly to us and had some pretty negative consequences.
"Everybody seems to be focused on that. We've had a pretty good balance of what the players have done, and we haven't had any issues or problems. Practice tempo has been pretty good and players have done a pretty good job of focusing when they need to."
The Crimson Tide is putting the finishing touches on the game plan and getting in some additional work on special teams.
Alabama will return to the practice field on Thursday for a practice similar to Wednesday's workout. The Capital One Bowl is scheduled for a 12 p.m. (CST) kickoff and will be carried by ESPN with Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe calling the action.
On Thursday after practice, Coach Nick Saban and select players will participate in a Capital One Bowl Pep Rally at Pointe Orlando. Alabama is on at 5 p.m. (EST) and Michigan State follows at 5:45 p.m. Both UA and MSU bands and cheerleaders are scheduled to attend. Coach Saban's radio show will be held later that evening (7-9 p.m.) in the atrium of the Renaissance Orlando Resort and is open to the public.
