Alabama Nine Will Have NIne TV Games

The Alabama baseball team will be featured seven times on television as part of the Southeastern Conference regional television schedule, the league office announced Friday. With the additional seven games, two games on SportSouth and five on CSS, the Crimson Tide will have nine games televised during the 2011 regular season.

The first television opportunity for 2011 has Alabama playing rival Auburn on March 15 on CSS, when the teams meet in a non-conference game in Montgomery, Ala. CSS will also broadcast the Arkansas at Alabama game on April 3, the Alabama at Vanderbilt game on April 8, the LSU at Alabama contest on May 7 and the Alabama at Auburn showdown on May 14. The start time for the May 14 game has been moved to noon.

The first of two SportSouth appearances will have the Crimson Tide at Mississippi on March 19. First pitch for this game has been moved to 2 p.m. Alabama's second SportSouth broadcast will have the Tide playing at Mississippi State on April 30. Only the first game of the recently scheduled doubleheader with the Bulldogs will be televised.

The SEC previously announced their ESPN package, which features Alabama twice. The Crimson Tide will host Tennessee on April 14 on ESPNU and make its second national appearance of the season on ESPN2 when it plays at Florida on April 23.

The SEC regular-season package will include 54 broadcasts in 2011, up from 46 games in 2010. In addition, all games from the 2011 SEC Tournament will continue to be televised, with the championship game airing again nationally on ESPN2.

Alabama opens the regular season on Feb. 18 with the first game of a three-game series against Alcorn State at 6:05 p.m. Season tickets, single-game, and mini-plans for the 33-game home schedule are available through the Alabama ticket office in Coleman Coliseum, by phone at 1-877-TIDETIX or by logging on to
