Alabama Gymnasts Sixth In Nation

The Alabama gymnastics team used its highest score of the season, a 197.075 against Auburn last Friday, to move up to No. 6 in the national rankings. The Crimson Tide defeated Auburn for the 101st consecutive time and gave Coach Sarah Patterson and her husband, Volunteer Coach Davis Patterson, their 400th victories at Bama.



Alabama, which hosts Kentucky this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the annual Power of Pink meet, is ranked second on the vault, third on the floor exercise and sixth on the balance beam, but only 21st on the uneven bars.

Florida remains the No. 1 team in the nation, followed by Stanford in second, Utah in third, Oklahoma in fourth and Georgia, Alabama's next road opponent, at No. 5.

Senior Kayla Hoffman, who won her third all-around of the season Friday, is 10th in the all-around and third on the vault. Junior Geralen Stack-Eaton is 15th in the all-around, 12th on the floor exercise and 19th on the vault. Sophomore Ashley Sledge is also ranked on the vault, coming in at 15th this week. Freshmen Diandra Milliner, Sarah DeMeo and Hannah Toussaint are all ranked this week. Toussaint and Milliner are eighth and 10th respectively on the floor exercise while DeMeo is 25th on the balance beam. Tickets are still available for Friday's meet against Kentucky, which will also be Alabama's seventh annual Power of Pink meet.
