Tide hosting visitors Wednesday

The University of Alabama has welcomed in numerous top players in the past week with the start of spring practice. One powerhouse school will have several on the Tide's campus including a commitment and a National 100 prospect.

Prattville (Ala.) High School has more than 10 D-I recruits in their 2012 class. Defensive end Caleb Gulledge and quarterback Justin Thomas have already committed to Alabama. Safety Derrick Moncrief is committed to Southern Miss. Defensive tackle Terrance Jones and offensive guard Bradley Steele have committed to South Alabama.

The highest rated prospect of the group is Justin Shanks, National 100 defensive tackle. Shanks is a high priority for several schools with Alabama hoping to add a third Prattville Lion to their recruiting class.

Shanks will arrive in Tuscaloosa with Alabama commitments Justin Thomas and Caleb Gulledge. Defensive end Jay Minor and running back DeAnte Lawrence are two recruits who have received heavy interest from the Crimson Tide. Minor has offers from Memphis and South Alabama. Lawrence has offers from South Alabama and Southern Miss.

Austin Golson, 2013 offensive tackle for the Lions, will also travel to Tuscaloosa. Golson will rank as one of the South's premier prospects. Florida State and Southern Miss have already extended scholarship offers.
