Troymaine Pope back from Tuscaloosa
"I just came back from the Alabama camp," said Troymaine Pope. "The Alabama camp was real good. The coaches like me. They said they want to see me block before they offer.
"I liked the cone drills we were doing down there. That was real cool. I liked the 7-on-7 work-outs. I also really liked the intensity of the coaches during the camp."
The 5-foot-8, 188-pound back clocked a 4.5 40-yard dash at Alabama's camp. He worked with the Tide's running back coach, Burton Burns.
"It was good to work with coach Burns," Pope said. "He likes me. He said he likes my cuts. He just wants to see me block. He said everything else is really good."
Pope has Alabama as one of his top three schools along with Clemson and Auburn.
Alabama: "I like being down there. I love Alabama. They are looking real good right now."
Clemson: "I like everything about Clemson. I like being around them. I like the atmosphere. It feels like home. I went up there back in April for a visit. I like it a lot."
Auburn: "I just like Auburn. I haven't been down there yet for a visit. I plan to camp there this weekend."
Pope reports offers from Arkansas State, Clemson, Jacksonville State and Purdue. He rushed for 2,034 yards and 38 touchdowns in 2010. He added 456 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
