Ryan Anderson back from camp

Ryan Anderson, three-star defensive end from Daphne, Ala., is one of Alabama's top commitments in the class of 2012. He is rated as a defensive end, but expected to play linebacker in Tuscaloosa. Anderson talked about the Tide's summer camp and a teammate who is also recruited by the University of Alabama.

"I was up there from Sunday until Tuesday," said Ryan Anderson. "The camp went really good. They had me working at the 'Mike' and 'Jack' linebacker positions.

"I like playing both positions. I am getting real comfortable. The coaches told me I did good. I worked with coach Sal and coach Smart. I like working with them."

Anderson was one of several commitments participating in the camp.

"I met a couple of players like Tyler Hayes, Eddie Williams and Reggie Ragland," Anderson said. "They are good players. They are real good athletes. Overall the camp was really good. It was hot out there."

Anderson also spent a time with Alabama head coach Nick Saban.

"I talked to coach Saban a little bit," said Anderson. "He was telling me to keep working hard. He got to coach me up a little bit in the 7-on-7. It was real fun."

Anderson traveled to Tuscaloosa with several teammates including T.J. Yeldon. The 6-foot-2.5, 249-pound athlete knows Yeldon is a top priority for the coaching staff.

"I am working on T.J.," he said. "We are getting there. I know he had a good time up there. We are going back up there in a coupe of weeks."
