New Tide commitment talks decision

Casey Gladney, wide receiver from Columbia, S.C., traveled to Tuscaloosa this week to participate in the University of Alabama's summer camp. He impressed the coaches enough to garner a scholarship offer. The out-of-stater talked with Andrew Bone about his decision.

"It feels great to be committed," said Casey Gladney. "I like the football program, the facilities and the stadium. I like everything.

"Coach Saban really stressed academics. That is a big reason why I committed. I can now fully focus on getting my work done in the classroom. I don't have to worry about anything else.

The Tide's camp had former NFL great Cris Carter working with the wide receivers this week. An added bonus for the campers. His son, Duron, will enroll at the Capstone in July.

"I really enjoyed the camp," Gladney said. "I feel like I learned a lot. It was great to work with Cris Carter. He taught me a lot. He really helped me with my route running. He is the coolest guy I know."
