Adam Griffith booming in T-Town

Adam Griffith, from Calhoun, Ga., projects to rank as the No. 1 kicker in the country. He has been committed to the University of Alabama for several months and had a big weekend at the kicking camp In Tuscaloosa on Saturday.

"I went to Alabama's camp yesterday," said said Adam Griffith. "It went good. I did good out there I won the Kickoff competition. I did pretty good on field goals. It was a good day. My last kickoff was 78 yards with a hangtime of 4.2 seconds."

Griffith made it a point to see one some future coaches.

"Coach Williams was saying how the summer has been," he said. "He was asking how I was doing. I like coach Williams a lot. He is real nice. I am looking forward to working with him.

"I talked to coach Saban a little bit. He was just asking how I have been and stuff like that. He told me he is excited about me coming there."

Chris Sailer, of Chris Sailer Kicking, has named the Alabama commitment the top kicking prospect in the class of 2012.

"Adam May be the most talented kicker that I have ever seen," Sailer said. "He has big-time leg and hits an absolutely huge ball. His field goals come off his foot like a rocket. His kickoffs are tops in the nation. Adam hit one wind-aided kickoff 90-plus yards with 4.40 second hang time. No one can match his talent."

Griffith attended the Alabama camp and an elite kicking camp in Las Vegas. He plans to attend the Top 12 Kicking camp this summer in Los Angeles.

Griffith added offers from LSU and Vanderbilt following his commitment to Alabama. He is sold on the Crimson Tide.

"I feel real good about my commitment," said Griffith. "I am not taking any visits. I am 100-percent committed. I plan to go to a bunch of Alabama games this fall."
