Donald Hopkins talks Alabama trip

Donald Hopkins, three-star defensive tackle from Lago Vista, Calif., spent Monday working out in Tuscaloosa. Andrew Bone talked with the West Coast prospect about his time at the Capstone.

"The visit to Alabama was really good," said Donald Hopkins. "It was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it. I worked out down there yesterday morning with coach Rumph.

"Coach Rumph was impressed. He liked me. He said I was a good player. We talked, and it was good. He is a real cool guy. He is really nice.

"I talked to coach Saban. We talked about how things work at Alabama with the academics and how they take care of their players. He told me I should wait until July to make my decision to make sure I make the right choice."

Hopkins reports several scholarship offers including Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Missouri, Utah and Wake Forest. He's undecided about a time-frame for a decision with more schools to visit.

"Alabama is a real good school," he said of his interest in the Tide. "They are always on TV. They are one of my top schools. I like everything about them.

"I really don't have a time-frame right now for a decision. I still have visits I want to take. I am going to Utah on June 28. I can't say I have favorites right now because I have only visited four schools, Alabama, Baylor, Missouri and SMU."
