Derek Edinburgh camps this weekend

Derek Edinburgh, three-star offensive tackle from New Orleans-Edna Karr, La., is a mammoth prospect who is camping in Tuscaloosa this weekend. He has recently collected SEC offers and hoping for another one from the Crimson Tide. Andrew Bone has the latest with the out-of-state prospect.

"I am going to the Alabama camp this weekend," said Derek Edinburgh. "I am going to the OL/DL camp. I haven't been hearing too much from them, but they have recruited me since my freshman year.

"Coach Burns has been recruiting me. I have a good relationship with him. I am hoping to get an offer from Alabama this weekend."

Edinburgh talked more of his interest in the Tide.

"I love Alabama," he said. "My family and I went to the spring game. I talked to coach Saban. He talked to my parents. I love the offense they run. The campus is great, and the atmosphere is real nice. I like everything about Alabama."

The 6-foot-7, 320-pound prospect recently landed offers from LSU and Mississippi State. He also has offers from Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Pittsburgh.

"I don't have any favorites," said Edinburgh. "After this Alabama camp I will talk to my parents and coach. I will probably make a commitment during the summer or right before football season.

"LSU has been recruiting me the hardest. They are the home-state school. Florida has been on me pretty hard the last few weeks. I went to their camp. Coach Burns is talking to me a lot. I am also talking to Colorado a good bit."
