Adam Breneman talks Tuscaloosa trip

Adam Breneman, tight end from Camp Hill-Cedar Cliff, Pa., is one of the top prospects in the northeast in the 2013 class. He has already collected at least eight scholarship offers. Breneman took an unofficial visit last week to the Capstone.

"My dad and I went down to Alabama last Thursday and Friday for a visit," said Adam Breneman. "The visit went great. I felt like I really got a lot out of it.

"Alabama is one of those national powerhouses. It is what I expected it would be. The facilities were beautiful. Coach Saban was awesome. I have a great relationship with my recruiting coach, Sal Sunseri. It was great to spend time with the tight ends coach, Coach Williams. Overall I got a real good feeling from Alabama."

The rising junior target talked more of spending time with the Tide coaching staff.

"Coach Saban explained how they use their tight ends," he said. "Coach Williams showed me on film how at times they use three to four tight ends on the the field. That's a big plus. They need you to play early there. Coach Saban talked about he runs the program and how everyone is on the same page. He talked about how they prepare you for the next level.

"It was my first-ever trip down there. The campus is gorgeous. I was only there for one night, but you can tell how everyone is passionate about Alabama football. They don't have anything else to root for in the state. You are either an Alabama or Auburn football fan. That's great.

Breneman has plenty of time in the recruiting process to take a closer look at programs and decide which schools will make a list.

"I am not making a top school list yet or naming any favorites," he explained. "I will do that after the football season, but I feel safe to say Alabama is a place I will consider for a while. I am definitely going back for a game this year. We haven't figured out which one yet."

Breneman touched on what stood out with the SEC program.

"I definitely like how they utililize tight ends in their offense," he said. "I was very impressed with everything. I like how the program is run. They have the mindset of competing and winning a national championship every year. I have a good relationship with the coaching staff. I definitely want to go somewhere I feel comfortable."

Breneman has scholarship offers from Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, Boston College, Rutgers and Temple.
