Denzell Devall visits Tuscaloosa

Denzell Devall, four-star defensive end from Bastrop, La., visited Alabama last week. He talked about his time in Tuscaloosa, and if the Tide made the cut for his top five schools.

"The visit to Alabama was great," said Denzell Devall. "I got a great work-out in. I got to build a relationship with the coaches. They told me I did great. They told me I would have a good chance to play early.

"Alabama is recruiting me as either an outside or inside linebacker. I worked with coach Sal and coach Smart. They are real cool. They are up-tempo. They are just cool coaches."

"I talked to coach Saban. I had a one-on-one meeting with him. He mainly told me they are losing five-to-eight linebackers. He said out of all the linebackers they are recruiting I am the most mature linebacker who could start as freshman."

The Louisiana native is a big fan of the former coach of his home-state.

"I like coach Saban a lot," said Devall. "I have liked him ever since he was the coach at LSU. I think the whole coaching staff is cool. I went up there last year for a camp. The campus is real nice, and so are the facilities. Everything is real nice."

Devall currently favors Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

"Those are my top five schools," he said (adding Texas A&M to the list for six). "My newest offers came from Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Stanford. Alabama is the only camp I have attended. I am going to Texas A&M on July 17. I don't really have a time-frame for a decision."
