ScoutTV: Casey Gladney

Casey Gladney, three-star wide receiver from Columbia, S.C., is the most recent commitment to the University of Alabama. Gladney impressed the coaching staff and earned a scholarship offer following his camp performance. His film is certainly impressive.

Columbia High School's Head Coach Kemper Amick told Scout.com last week he didn't promote his star player, Casey Gladney, to media outlets because he has work to do in the classroom. Alabama will re-evaluate his grades later this fall.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect was one of the big standouts at the Alabama camp drawing heavy praise from observers, other camp participants and former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Cris Carter.

Gladney's film showcases speed and excellent hands. He's elusive and has great acceleration. Gladney does a great job going up for the ball and has good concentration. He is recruited as a receiver, but also a dangerous threat on special teams.

Gladney stood a good chance in the Scout 300 if his film had become available much earlier in the process. In-state schools such as Clemson and South Carolina took a look at his transcripts early in recruiting process and decided not to offer. His performance in Tuscaloosa and improvement in the classroom had the Tide staff willing take a chance until later in the school year.

Gladney had 49 catches in 2010 for 885 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had 16 total touchdowns for the season.

Alabama commitment Casey Gladney in action.
