Alabama offers 2013 OL
"The camp was pretty good," said Deon Mix. "I think I did pretty good. They offered me. They had me working offenisve guard and tackle. There was a bunch of talent there. They worked me hard. I feel like I got better.
"I really like the way the coaches were coaching us. There was a lot of good talent out there. The more talent you are around the more it helps you as a player. Alabama made you work hard."
Mix enjoyed working with Alabama offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland.
"I like coach Stoutland a lot," he said. "He does a real good job coaching. He is a smart coach. He knows what he is talking about. He doesn't curse. He gets his point across without having to offend anyone. He reminds me a lot of my coach.
"Coach Saban asked me to come to his office after the camp ended. Coach Saban told me I performed good. He told me he really like the way I play. He said he hopes I come to Alabama."
The 6-foot-5, 305-pound junior has a high interest in the Tide.
"I like the way they work," said Mix. "I like the atmosphere a lot. It's a real homey-type feel. It's real live up there. They work hard in everything they do. I like that. It reminds me a lot of South Panola."
Mix has secured offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss.
