Mitchell suffers setback at Alabama camp

Javiee Mitchell, three-star outside linebacker from Leeds, Ala., traveled to Tuscaloosa Saturday for the University of Alabama's camp. Mitchell was eager to perform in front of the Tide coaches, but he will need to return next month after suffering an injury at camp.

"The first part of the camp went all right," said Javiie Mitchell. "I ended up getting a joint sprain in my right foot. We were doing our first one-on-one drill. I did a spin move and planted my foot. I went one way, and my foot went the other.

"The coaches told me to ice it as much as possible. I will be off my feet for a while. They want to see me back at the camp in July. I plan on going back down there."

Alabama wanted to take a closer look for a better evaluation.

"I got a chance to show them what I could do during drills," Mitchell said. "I worked at linebacker for coach Saban. I worked with coach Sunseri. He was showing me what all I needed to do.

"Hopefully I will be better by the next camp. I think they want to recruit me as a linebacker. They filmed me during the position drills. I didn't get a chance to talk to coach Saban during the visit."
